The hunt
The other day I was working in the garden when out of the corner of my eye I saw a big bird appear, holding something in its claws. His flight did not look like the one of the crows we see in the neighborhood.
A few seconds later the bird lands on a branch of maple in the garden and Oh surprise, it is a large hawk holding in its claws a squirrel !!
Needless to say, I ran for my camera with the 200-500 zoom. I was able to take a series of beautiful photos.
The irony is that I spent hours this summer trying to capture hawks photos at the Mount Royal without much success, and here is one that comes in my garden and poses for almost 2 hours …
Warning: some photos may seem a bit harsh for the faint of hearts.
